

E. Jay Nichols Jr., passed away at his home November 24, 2015. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a lover of computers, and an avid rider and an award winning motor-cross cyclist. He developed many friends through the years, becoming a mentor to many. He attended Resurrection Catholic Church in Memphis. He was a kind and caring man, who through his generous and selfless donation to the Genesis program, will continue to help his fellowman through medical research.
He is survived by two daughters, Christina Blanchard-Horan and Mary Ann Nichols; son, Ellsworth Jay Nichols III; grandchildren, Davina Blanchard, Morgan Horan, Jo Anna (James) Thompson and Clay Davis; great-grandchildren, Tyler Thompson and Anna Cate Thompson and sister, Mary-Lou Solaas.
The family will receive friends for the sharing of stories, refreshments and memories on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 5-9pm in the “Life Remembrance Center” of Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 10a.m. at the Resurrection Catholic Church, 5475 Newberry, Memphis, TN. Flowers can be sent or gifts in memory of Mr. E. Jay Nichols, may be offered to his daughter’s charity www.MatreGroup.org located in Silver Spring, MD.
