Elizabeth R. Black, 93, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021. Elizabeth was a retired employee of the Memphis Publishing Company (The Commercial Appeal) of 20 years. She was also a property manager for another 20 years after her retirement. Elizabeth loved sports on tv, Major League Baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves, Golf Tournaments and NASCAR. She always had houseplants to care for, Elizabeth was actually featured in the newspaper's Sunday section for her African Violets. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and also Union Avenue Baptist Church.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son, Jim Black; sister, Virginia Regel and brother, James Regel. She is survived by her children, Kathy, Gail and Alan; her six siblings, R.C., Leon, Mary Patricia, Bill and Iris and their spouses; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 7th at 10am at Memphis Memory Gardens.
