Elizabeth Carolyn Moore McDonald Gallagher

Elizabeth Carolyn Moore McDonald Gallagher, 89 of Memphis went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 17, 2013. Carolyn was born January 2, 1924 in Walnut Ridge, AR and graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1940. She worked for Equitable Life Insurance for 35 years; was a member of Cherokee Baptist Church for over 60 years. Carolyn volunteered and supported the Lions Club of Memphis and also volunteered with Methodist Hospital. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents William Edgar and Elizabeth Hilliard Moore; her first husband of 15 years, Marvin McDonald and her second husband of 32 years, William J. Gallagher ; her sister Sally Ford and her brother, William Moore. She is survived by her daughter, Pat Gallagher; sons Leslie McDonald (Kathleen), William Gallagher (Janet), Eddie Gallagher (Becky); brother, Ernest L. Moore; five grandchildren, Brian Gallagher, Bradly Gallagher, Emma McDonald, Gregory Gallagher and Megan Gallagher; nieces, Carol McEwen (Gary), Mary Moore; nephews Charley Ford (Teresa) and David Moore (Martha). The family will receive friends on Friday, June 21 from 1 – 2 pm with funeral services starting at 2 pm at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Ave. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The American Heart Association, cherokee Baptist Church or The Lion's Club of Memphis.
