Marie Horton, 87, went home May 12, 2011. She died from complications of COPD. Marie was born in Enterprise, Mississippi, to Kyle and Pearl Higginbotham. She retired after 28 years working in the Courtesy booth at Pic Pac. She was a member of Cherry Road Baptist Church.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Tommy D. Horton and her son Richard Horton. She leaves one son, Robert Horton and one daughter, Jean Clayton and her husband, Joe; two granddaughters Jennifer Lowe and her husband David of Memphis and Angela Harrington. She is also survived by two sisters, Florayne Scipper of Memphis and Reba Dill of Wyoming, four great-grandchildren, four nieces and one nephew.
Visitation will be Monday, May 16 at 1 p.m. at Memphis Funeral on Poplar and the service will begin at 2 p.m. following visitation. Burial will be at Memphis Memory Gardens on Raleigh-LaGrange Road.
The family request that any memorials be sent to St. Jude Hospital.
