Evelyn McCluskey Erwin, 83, passed away July 22, 2021. Evelyn lived a very active life. She enjoyed painting and going with her group of friends to the Bartlett Performing Arts center. Evelyn was very involved with her church. She was in the UMW, the Fun Club, Susanna’s Circle, taught Sunday school and VBS. Evelyn was a Memphis City School Teacher for 33 years. Her main hobby in life was being a wonderful caregiver to her two grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Erwin; parents, Louise McCluskey and Stephen J. McCluskey, Sr.; sister, Eileen M. Kobeck; and brother, Stephen J. McCluskey, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Gallimore (Mark); grandchildren, Nicholas Gallimore and Jordan Gallimore; nephew, Jason Kobeck; great-niece, Jessica Kobeck; great-nephew, Carter Kobeck; and several other nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering of friends Sunday, July 25 from 1-2pm with a funeral service to immediately follow at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., Memphis, TN 38122. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Fox Island Road, Tunica, MS 38676.
