Fred Lee Tolleson Jr. lost his battle with cancer at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett on December 9, 2018. He is preceded in death by his father, Fred Tolleson, Sr., his mother, Ray Birdsong Tolleson, and his beautiful daughter, Tia Tolleson. Fred was a lifelong Memphian who graduated from Southside High School. Early in his life he was in the insurance profession and later had a successful career selling bonds. Fred was an avid golfer throughout his life. During this time he made three holes in one. During his retirement Fred enjoyed nothing more than the fellowship of his lifelong friends while playing rounds of golf. Fred always had a joke to tell and got great satisfaction from the laughs his humor brought. Fred will be sadly missed by his daughters, Shelley Tolleson Kinderman and Jennifer Tolleson Freeman; granddaughters, Alex and Erin Kinderman; and grandson, Auston Freeman. He also leaves sisters, Ray Tolleson Cox and Carol Tolleson Cole. There will be a Celebration of Fred’s life at Family Funeral Care, located at 4925 Summer Ave., on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 2:30 pm to 3:30pm.
