Geraldine Ruth Dance

Jerrie Dance, age 82, passed away on August 30, 2017 at Kirby Pines Estates in Memphis, TN. She was born Geraldine Ruth Williams on January 27, 1935 in Webster, WV. She married Charles Dance on July 11, 1954 in Reno, NV. Jerrie is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Genevieve (Westfall) Williams, her husband Charles Dance and her sister Ellen Winland. She is survived by her sister Ginger (Jack) Fowler, daughters Carol Luttrell of Cordova, TN and Susan (Ken) Anderson of Lynn Haven, FL, son Michael Dance of FL, grandchildren Christy (Matt) Wiggins of Cordova, TN, Ian (Andrea) Dance of Maple Grove, MN, Sarah (Jeff) McCormick of Nashville, TN and Angela Anderson of Lynn Haven, FL, great-granddaughter Eden Dance of Maple Grove, MN and many many nieces and nephews. Jerrie attended West Virginia University and earned her Nursing degree at Belleville Area College, Belleville, IL. Jerrie practiced nursing in a variety of settings, including the 12-bed hospital on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands. She finished her formal nursing career at Lakeside Behavioral Health System in Memphis, TN. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Cordova, TN. After caring for her husband before his death in November 2008, she moved to Kirby Pines Estates where she received excellent care from the staff of Kirby Pines, Home Instead and Crossroads Hospice.
