Gilbert M. Jackson, 84, of Memphis, passed away February 1, 2015. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 5, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery, with full military honors. Mr. Jackson proudly served our country, retiring from the U.S. Air Force, and he was an active member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lecy E. Jackson; and his step-daughter, Dianne Sorrell. He is survived by his son, Johnnie Smith (Sandra); his daughter, Teresa Smith; his step-daughter, Sandra Thomas; 2 brothers, George Jackson and Kenneth Jackson; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
