Gladys Thornton

Gladys B. Thornton, 91, of Bartlett, TN, died Saturday, July 9, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Thornton. She was a retired Registered Nurse of Baptist Memorial Hospital, also a member of Bartlett Baptist Church and former member of First Baptist Church of Memphis and Womens Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughters, Terry Sparks (Denton), and Elizabeth Morgan (David) of Bartlett, TN; sisters, Ruth and Lida Ballard, both of Whitesburg, TN; five grandchildren, Courtney Dickinson, Amber Morgan, Clint Morgan, Stacy Morgan, Denny Sparks, Jr.; and nine great-grandchildren, Callie, Noah, Grace, Morgan, Toby, Landon, Brock, Kyler, Emily. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 13 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Poplar Avenue.
