Harriette, born in Clarksville (TN), was a long-time resident of Memphis. She is the daughter of the late Jesse Edwards and Amanda Gooch Edwards. She was preceded in death by her only brother, Retired Major General Jay T. Edwards.
Harriette was a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church where she was employed as Church Secretary. During her free time Harriette enjoyed traveling, LOVED scrapbooking and spending time with her friends. Harriette was passionate about her time volunteering with the Emmaus walks and the prison ministry.
Harriette is survived by her 5 children: Gary Biedenkapp (Jude), Robb McClendon (Lanette), Steve McClendon (Dana), Amanda Norris, and John McClendon (Tricia). Her 9 Grandchildren: Michaela Kearney (John), Shelly Smith (Tyler), Alec McClendon, Meagan Fromme (Michael), Robert McClendon, Madison Lanier (Jonathan), Connor Norris, Briana McClendon, and Kaylyn McClendon. Her 3 great-grandchildren: Maddox Fromme, Teddy Smith and Joseph Kearney. In addition to her immediate family, Harriette is survived by her sister-in-law Pat Edwards and her loving nieces Linda McNabb and Lisa Reynolds, and COUNTLESS friends whom she adored.
The family wishes to thank the staff and Mr. Horace Brown of Harborview Nursing and Rehab for the care they provided to Harriette the last 3 years.
Join us in celebrating Harriette and her love of God, family and friends. Her memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 26th at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:00 at the Memphis Funeral Home (5599 Popular Avenue, Memphis TN).
