

Helen Nunnery Aloway, 92. of Memphis, Tennessee died on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Allen Morgan Health Center. She was born October 1, 1922 in Arcola, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Davis Nunnery and Eleanor Pearl Nunnery, brothers Isaac D. Nunnery, Jr. and Paul Nunnery, and sister Edna Nunnery Spaulding. She is survived by her beloved sister, Margaret Nunnery Falkmann, her nephew, Ronald Alan Falkmann (Janet), and nieces, Linda Falkmann Clawson (Keith) and Mary Edna Falkmann Buchignani (Leo).
Helen served many years as a charge nurse and nursing educator for Baptist Hospital. She gave her talents and service generously through overseas missionary nursing trips and the local music ministry of Bellevue Baptist Church. Evangelism and music were her passions, and she was a volunteer pianist for the Wednesday night services at the Shelby County Correctional Center.
Her family will miss her greatly but they are rejoicing that she is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In her last moments, she listened to the hymn "How Great Thou Art" and, as the hymn ended, she drew her final breath.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, July 20 from five o'clock to seven o'clock in the evening. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 21 at ten o'clock in the morning, all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. Interment will be held at the Hollandale Cemetery in Hollandale, MS at three o'clock in the afternoon following Services.
