

Hollis was born in 1931 in McKenzie TN to Hollis Cannon Scott and Josie Mae Craft Scott. He attended school in Trezvant TN. Following his service in the Army during the Korean War he returned to Memphis and had a long career at Missouri Pacific Railroad.
He married Bessie Lee Hatch in 1965. Hollis was a devoted Christian and friend to every one he knew. Music was his passion, especially Southern Gospel . He was prolific at woodworking, leather crafting and painting.
Hollis leaves two brothers, Melvin and James Allen, his son Michael Scott (Janice) a daughter Kay Hope (John), grandchildren Heather (Fred), Holly (Andy), Kristin (Patrick) Kimberly (Landon) Scott McEachern (Jennifer) and Mary Bess McEachern and 13 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Clyde Scott, sister Thelma Sawyers, his wife of 61 years, Bessie and grandson Joey McEachern.
Visitation is scheduled at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar, Memphis TN on Thursday May 21 from 4-7 pm. Services to be held Friday May 22 at 10:00 am, also at Memphis Funeral Home, followed by burial at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh-LaGrange Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38134.
