Iona Vivian Yaxley Tankersley, 96, died peacefully in her sleep January 18, 2019. Born in Norwich, England, she married a U.S.A.A.F. soldier and later moved to Memphis after WWII. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Tankersley, and both parents. She is survived by her sons Irvin (Pat); Ed, and David (Janice) Tankersley and two siblings.

A gathering will be held at Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Chapel, 5599 Poplar Ave, on Tuesday, January 22, from five o'clock until seven o'clock in the evening with funeral services on Wednesday, January 23 beginning at ten o'clock in the morning.
Memorials may be made to Park Avenue Church of Christ or a charity of the donors choice.
