Jane Jones

Jane Jones, 102, died June 18, 2017, after a brief illness. Miss Jones was born in Hernando, Mississippi, to Bartlett Fulton Jones and Julia Holliday Jones, who predeceased her. Her sister, Dr. Juliaette Holliday Jones, and half-siblings, Ira, Mary Edith, and Thomas Jones also predeceased her.

She will be missed by her Memphis cousins, Jane Van Tour, Emmett A. Wilson, III, Susan Wilson, and Rhonda W. Harris. Miss Jones counted the many friends she had from her neighborhood in the Evergreen Historic District Association, and her church, Trinity United Methodist Church as her family. The love and support of all of you was treasured beyond measure.

Miss Jones was a proud alumna of Mississippi State College for Women (now MUW). She was a member of Chickasaw Bluff chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Colonial Dames. Miss Jones also was a member of the Beethoven Club.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 23, at 1:00 p.m., at Memphis Funeral Home, with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Forest Hill – Midtown. Memorials may be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church.
