John T. Buchanan

John T. Buchanan, 87, of Memphis, passed away on July 11, 2013. Born on May 30, 1926, John served in the US Army during World War II as a Sergeant, and he retired as a Lieutenant with the Memphis Fire Department after 27 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn; his parents, John and Trowlin Buchanan; and his brothers, Bill and Leroy Buchanan. Mr. Buchanan is survived by 3 children, Tommy Buchanan, Angie Buchanan, and John Michael Buchanan; his daughter-in-law, Kayra Bryant; 3 grandchildren, Daryl Jenny, and Cody Buchanan; and 2 sisters, Betty Weaver and Frances McDaniel. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 15, and funeral services will follow at 12 noon, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 573 North Highland, Memphis, TN 38122. Interment will be held in Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bartlett. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Methodist Hospice for their outstanding care.
