John Gary Hancock, Sr., 62, of Memphis, passed away February 19, 2014, at his home. The family will gather with friends, to share and remember, from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, February 24, in the Dogwood Suite at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue. John retired from MLG&W after more than 25 years, where he wore many different hats. He was a devoted family man, and he loved every moment spent with his family, friends, and dogs. Mr. Hancock is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sheila B. Hancock; three sons, James Hancock, John Hancock, Jr. (Allison), and John Burgett (Stacy); his sister, Deborah Sparks (Norm); and two grandchildren, Jared Burgett and Lucas Burke Hancock.
