I'm eternally grateful for the opportunity John gave me to come to work at Hobby Lobby. He was used of God to change my life all for the betterment. We had an interview that lated much longer than it should've because we had such a conversation. I didn't know till the end of the interview that he'd be out the whole next week hiring for the Olive Branch store. He was not looking forward to that. It seems like only day before yesterday that we had that conversation. 
I loved him and respected his work ethic and we got along admirably until one dayI made the mistake of saying to him" we'll make a southeren boy out of you yet" , I got a bad look and a quick response that time! I thought, WHEW! Keep your mouth shut girl!

Dear Friends and Family of John Heintz, 

As we mourn the loss of such a great man, we are moved that many have reached out with a desire to honor John with their words.  John’s immediate family will be hosting a very small and intimate memorial service for John at the home of his mother, Shirley Heintz-Ives, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  Although it would be ideal if everyone could join us in person, we know that it is simply not possible. We are so incredibly grateful for the requests to speak about John that we wanted to be sure everyone had an opportunity to share. It would be an incredible blessing for John’s family to hear the memories you share with him.

While some have requested to write a few words, others have requested to speak on his life as well.  We would love to be able to share those moments and memories with all who loved him so we are reaching out in hopes to give everyone the opportunity they desire.  If you desire to write a few words that you would like recited during the ceremony, please submit those words via email to John’s niece, Megan.  If you desire to speak on his life, please upload a video of yourself speaking to YouTube and share the YouTube link with Megan via email.  Megan’s email address is lanphereml@gmail.com. 

Our intentions are to combine the video of the memorial service and your submitted memories into one segment that can be uploaded to YouTube.  We will then share the link with those who would like to join in the celebration his life.    

Please submit any video links, pictures, or written passages by November 15, 2022 so that we have time to format and prepare them for viewing at the memorial service.

To John’s Family, I’m so sorry for your loss.  John and I had serious discussions about death and heaven.   He told me he wasn’t afraid, and he knew heaven would be a beautiful place.  He said all the people in heaven would be happy and healthy, and he would be with his sister Judy.    I know you are all very sad, and my heart goes out to all of you.   Know that John will forever live in your hearts.  There will come a time that you will have a memory of John, you will smile, and will treasure the time you had together.

I am sending my deepest condolences to the entire family. I knew John many years ago when he belonged to the Brunswick Beavers Snowmobile Club. He was very willing to help with any projects and was a very nice man.  May he Rest In Peace . 

To John's Family, I am so sorry for your loss.  I know losing John is hard on all of you. Losing a loved one especially a Son or a Brother is hard to come to terms with. I hope that John's faith in the Lord and your own beliefs will carry you thru the coming  days.

John Wayne Heintz, 67, of Memphis, TN, joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven following a lengthy illness on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

John was born on January 28, 1955 in Fairbanks, Alaska, to Dale and Shirley (Ganther) Heintz.  He was raised in Eau Claire, Wi and graduated from North High School in 1973.  John worked as Manager of several Kmart stores throughout central United States.  Later in his career, John managed Hobby Lobby in Memphis, TN, where he worked until his retirement in 2019. 
 
John’s very strong belief in his Heavenly Father, has guided his life for many years.  He loved to share his faith in Jesus Christ with others, and was always planting seeds.  John was a loving father, son, brother, and was very kind and caring to everyone.  He will be truly missed!
 
John is survived by his wife Judy and daughter Hannah of Memphis, TN, his daughter, Ashley Heintz of Chippewa Falls, WI, his son, Joshua Heintz of Glendale, AZ, his mother, Shirley (Heintz) Ives of Eau Claire, WI, his sister, Janet (Dave) Eberhardt of Colfax, WI, his brother Chris (Ann) Heintz of Louisville, KY, his grandchildren, Brennan, Lylah, and Weston; his step children, David (Whitney) Fulton, Jennifer Fulton, and six grandchildren (Kalin, Brandon, Alyssa, Haley, Molly,and Maxx) and two great grandchildren (Jaxon and Oliver), all of Memphis, TN.

John was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Heintz, his father, Dale Heintz, and his step father, Howard Ives.

John is now at Home with his Heavenly Father, Forever in Our Hearts.

A Memorial stone will be placed in remembrance of John at Rest Haven Gardens in Eau Claire, WI.


We are so upset that you are no longer here with us. But we do know you are in heaven with a smile on your face watching over us all. We will be missing you greatly! You will always be in our hearts! We love you so much! Rest in peace daddy❤️
