When you agreed to hire me away from DSS I was so excited.  We made a great team and I respected you so much as you were always a straight shooter.  I truly loved working for you and all of the divisions we covered.  The sales reps wanted to learn what Mr. Leuck could teach them, which was how to always be honest and up front with everyone you meet.  Your work ethics soared with the best.  Rest in Peace my friend.  When I get there, I will be available to call on Friday mornings for your T times.  May G-d bless you and bless your wonderful family.  It was our privilege to know you, and have had you as part of our life.

Mr. Leuck was a great and positive influence on me beginning at the age of eight when I met Jay through calling on his counterparts at General Foods. He was such a nice man. My condolences to Mrs. Leuck, Chuck, Jill, Jay and the entire family.

John hired me in 1976 and I was fortunate to last 35 years.  Thanks for the opportunity!  I was fortunate to have met all his family at one time or another.  What a great bunch.  God Bless!

Colleen and Family, before I started to write this to you I read all of the postings to date. It looks like a whos who list of GF personnel. I can only reiterate what many have already said. John and I worked together for about 10 years after GSO was formed. He in Memphis and me in Atlanta. During that time we formed a bond that could only happen when people genuinely cared about each other.  We helped each other get through  some difficult times and we were better for it. John and I went to Vegas after a meeting and he kept me out of trouble. He taught me to play gin and it only cost me $50 for a 10 minute lesson. Money well spent. My loss does not compare to yours but I have lost one of my best friends. I will miss him always. I always knew I could pick up the phone and give him a call and we could pick right up .I am so glad he came to our reunion in Callaway Gardens. Sorry this is so long, but I wanted you to know how I felt about John . He has left a great legacy with his family. He was one of a kind.

John was one of the best managers I had at GF/Kraft. I enjoyed working for him so much, as he was the best LEADER in General Foods! He taught me so much & I just retired after 36.5 years of service. I owe very much to him!! Rest in peace John!!!!

I am pleased to have served as a District Sales Manager in the Post and Breakfasst & Pet Foods Divisions of General Foods with John. In addition to being a highly prductive slaes leader, John was also a great person and friend. I pray for comfort for the Leuck family during this time of loss.

Colleen and kids. Just heard of your tremendous loss. John always seemed to be one of the happiest people I knew. He loved and did a great deal with the the family(which I learned a big life lesson from), he loved getting out with his friends to play golf and cards and he was a tremendous asset to me at work and always seemed to deliver. I just spoke with him last November and he brought me up to speed on the wonderful growing family you guys have. I could tell he was happier than ever. Colleen, so sorry to hear the news.  John hired me in Jackson, MS in 1980 and I retired last year with 32 years with the company.  I owe so much to the gentleman that helped me get it all started.  He taught me the game of golf, but luckily, I did not catch his swing!  I unfortunately missed seeing John at last year's GF reunion and had hoped to see him at the next.  He was a true gentleman and a man of great integrity!  He had an impact on so many people's lives.  He will be missed.  I pray for God's Grace for you and your family.  GOD BLESS!

A true gentleman...was clearly one of the very best District Managers I was fortunate to work with at General Foods. Sure wish I had had more like him. Our warmest thoughts and prayers to his family.

John was our "Cereal Guru" when we became Grocery Sales. He was a great friend.  I worked with him for 12 years. Hey, John, I hear there's nothing but fairways and greens up there.Is that right?  Put me down for a Saturday tee time.  Won't be too much longer and you, me, Howard, can have a staff meeting. We might even ask Hartsell.

Some things never change: John's "hallmark" smile.  Behind that smile was a very TRUE GENTLEMAN...who God blessed us: those of us who knew him, and worked with him.  Condolences to his fine family, and his many friends...

I worked for John in Houston and again in Little Rock. He was a true gentleman and a good friend.  I had great respect for him. He was a good man that really loved his family.

Colleen , I am shocked and saddened by the news that I just recieved. I had no idea that John was ill .  He was a great guy and a wonderful friend forover 50 years. It was impossible to have a bad day around John. Our world did not improve with his passing.  Condolences to his family.  Sleep well, John.

A dear friend who saw the best in everyone.  Knew John for 30 years at GF and served as District Manager with him in Memphis.  Never won a golf bet from him...a genuinely nice man who will be missed but remembered.

What a tremendous loss. Although he and I lost touch since retirement from GF I'll always remember him as an outstanding gentleman and a consumate business professional. I always admired his quiet confidence. My condolences to Colleen and the entire Leuck family.
