John L. Oswalt, Sr., 66 of Memphis passed away, July 20, 2013. Mr. Oswalt was preceded in death by his parents, T.L. and Ella Jean Oswalt and one brother, Thomas Luther Oswalt, III. He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Deason (Keith), Kathryn Ann Oswalt Peritore; son John L. Oswalt, Jr., sisters, Joye Jean O’Rourke, Jayne Terry and seven grandchildren, James Keith Deason, Jr., Rebecca Elizabeth Deason, Anna Leigh Deason, Jonathon Brent Oswalt, Hannah Elise Powell, Jack Mackenny Oswalt and Olivia Reese Peritore. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, July 25. The family will receive friends prior to service starting at 11 am. All at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Ave. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sardis, MS following the service at 3 pm.
