My condolences to the Scanlon Family. Mr. John was such a calm and inviting spirit every time he would come and visit me. I appreciate all of the good reads he shared at each of those encounters. I will always remember his bright smile and sincerity.

I am so sorry to learn of Gene's passing.  We were 1959 classmates at CBHS, and neighbors until a few years ago .  Gene was a very kind man, and I enjoyed his company very much.  My prayers for the entire family.

I am very sad to read of Gene's passing.  He was my mentor and friend at FedEx.  He was kind and a quick wit.

There are too many 'Geneisms' to list but the one I still quote to people is:  
"If you think it's simple, you probably don't understand".  He cracked me up!

Gene and I were classmates at Christian Brothers High School (1959).   We ran together on the high schoolon relay teams.  Gene beat me in most of our personal races.  Gene and I were close friends.  Unfortunately, our college days seperated us.  We kept in touch mostly at the CBHS reunions and luncheons.  Like everyone who knows Gene, we will all miss him dearly.   Rest in peace, Gene Scanlon!!  

In college when ever I had a paper to write or a math problem I couldn't figure out. I always could go to Gene and he would sit down with me and work me thru the problem.

Beloved Brother Scanlon, who was present at my Initiation at the Epsilon Pi Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.  Gene will always be remember as the Track And Field Star for our Chapter as well as being the Grand Master.  Will see you in the Celestial reward.  Gods comfort to his Family left behind.

Mr. Scanlon was a very sweet man. He always had a book to recommend to me when he came to the office to visit. He was always patient and always smiled. Will miss him dearly. 

Gene could always find the humor in any situation. We had many good laughs together. He was an upbeat guy, always affable and open-minded. He worked hard at his studies at CBCHS.  Besides being a wiry half-back, he could run a darn fast 440 yd. relay.

We were classmates together. A very nice guy.
