John Fred Watson, 87, died June 28, 2016 at his residence in Germantown. He was born July 2, 1928 to the late Mary Blacknall Watson and Fred Lee Watson. He was a descendant of William Porch, a founder of Dresden. Mr. Watson graduated from Messick High School in 1946. He received a BS degree in Business Administration from the Univ. of TN at Knoxville. He graduated from Vanderbilt’s School of Law. He practiced law in the Memphis area for years. He served in the US Air Force from 1950 – 1955. He received special commendation as Base Casualty Assistance Officer at Dover, Delaware Air Base. In the Reserves, he rose to the rank of Captain. He is survived by Miss Mary Ann Watson, his sister of Memphis. He also is survived by his cousins, Marie and Bob Sayles of Lenoir City, TN.
