

Juanita "Nita" Jones Vines, a retired preschool teacher who enjoyed yardwork and square dancing, died Jan. 8 at St. Francis Hospital. She was 88. Visitation for Mrs. Vines, who is preceded in death by her husband, Albert, is Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar. A graveside service will be Sunday afternoon at Forest Hill Cemetery on Whitten. Mrs. Vines, who was born in Kosciusko, Miss., also lived in Jackson, Miss. and Tupelo, Miss. before moving to Memphis in 1968. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church. She square danced with her late husband and enjoyed bowling and ceramics. In her later years, she prided herself on yardwork and gardening. Mrs. Vines is survived by two daughters, Rita Garrigan (Joe) and Martha Bailey (Clay), both of Memphis; a sister, Wilma Dea Burchfield of Tunica, Miss.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
