Kathryn Suiter Bennett

Kathryn Bennett, 93, of Memphis, formerly of Hernando, MS, passed away on December 4, 2017. The family will gather to receive friends on Saturday, December 9, beginning at 12:00 noon, and funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m., at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Avenue Chapel. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Kathryn was a faithful and dedicated member of the Hernando Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, and she was eager to help and serve everyone she met. Kathryn always went the extra mile for her family and friends. Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James O. Bennett. She is survived by her children, Kitty Carpenter (Richard) of Memphis, Joyce McDowell (Jim) of Jackson, TN, and Don Bennett (Peggy) of Hernando; five grandchildren, Brent (April) and Shawn (Amy) McDowell, Tammy Doriot, Dustin (Michelle) Carpenter, and J.D. Bennett; six great grandchildren, Austin, Murphee, Lily, Jack, Nora, and A.J.; her sister, Frances Clinard of Knoxville, TN; and her brother, Tommy Suiter of Clarksville, TN.
