

Kim Baxter Henley, 77, passed away Tuesday June 7th, 2016, in Memphis, TN. She will be remembered as a loving wife, caring mother and grandmother, and a devoted member of the Lamplighters Sunday School class at Christ United Methodist Church. Her loved ones will also recall her reverence for correct grammar and her staunch belief that one cat was never enough. In the 1980s to early 2000s, she was active in Les Passees, the Women’s Exchange and the Chi Omega sorority. She was a graduate of Byars-Hall High School in Covington, TN, and Southwestern at Memphis.
Kim is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Virginia Baxter (née Black) of Covington, TN, and her husband of 54 years, Ray. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Matheny (Joey); son Kimbrough Henley (Julie); grandson Ross Henley; and two sisters, Camille Whitley and Janie Carloss. Her family will receive friends Monday, June 13th, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church with the service to follow at 2:00 PM. The burial will take place afterward at Memorial Park Cemetery.
