After graduating from Germantown High School, Kurt served a tour in the U.S. Navy. After receiving his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Education at the University of Memphis in 2005, he taught in the Memphis City School System and eventually taught English as a second language to students abroad. His passions were history, politics, and teaching.
He will be missed by his sister Robin Morrison, brother in law Anthony, nieces Grace and Rachel Morrison, stepmother Mona Rippe, stepbrother Jacob Humphrey, aunt Louise Shifflett, cousins Stacy Shord and Michael Shifflett, as well as his extended family.
