
Larry Neil Miller, 63, of Memphis, TN, died Saturday at his lake home in Heber Springs, AR from an aneurysm. Larry was born to the late Irene (Ballard) and Gilbert Miller on January 25, 1949, in Ripley, MS. He was baptized at the Ripley church of Christ. He graduated from Falkner High School and served in the U.S. Army. Throughout his adult life, Larry worked in the overhead door business, for the past 19 years as President of Millerwood Door Inc., and as a partner in Millerwood Investments LLC., in Memphis. Larry's parents instilled in him a strong sense of loyalty and an unwavering love and respect of family. He had a smile that would light up a room and a personality that was liked a magnet, drawing others to him. You always wanted to be around Larry and we are all better people for having loved him. He is survived by his partner of 31 years, Jay Wood. His siblings: James (Edna) Miller; Charles (Louise) Miller; Danny (Gladys) Miller; Glen (Leslie) Short; Joyce Cook; and Velva Jarvis. His uncle Cecil (Pauline) Ballard and Barbara Thornton, 19 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews, all of whom adored their "Uncle Larry". Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Donald Miller. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 2, at 2 p.m. at Ripley Cemetery in Ripley, MS for family and friends. Jay will host a champagne celebration of Larry's wonderful life on Sunday, January 6, from 5:30 until 7 p.m. at their home. May he rest in peace in the presence of God.
