Larry Eugene Ratliff, 78 of Memphis, TN, passed away peacefully at Methodist Germantown on May, 10, 2021. Born December 20, 1942, in Bowling Green, KY, he was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Reed and brother, David Reed. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Polly Ratliff; 3 daughters, Robin Beaven of Evansville, IN, Cheryl Steele (Jimmy) of Southaven, MS, Laurie Daly (Mark) of Cumming, GA; his sister Joyce Smith (Jimmy) of Crestwood, KY; his brothers Mike Reed of Kissimmee, FL; Keith Reed (Vicki) of Louisville, KY; Kevin Reed (Jo) of Owensboro, KY; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry retired from FedEx after a 20-year career and also was a long time member and current president of the FedEx Retirees Club. He served as a volunteer for 39 years on the transportation committee for the former FedEx St. Jude Classic. He was also a 48-year member of the Jerusalem Masonic Lodge #9 in Henderson, KY, and he was a proud Shriner. He served 4 years in the United States Navy. Larry thoroughly enjoyed golf, cigars, NASCAR, eating Blue Bell ice cream and helping others.
Services will be held Friday, May 14th at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar. Visitation will be held from 1-2pm and services will begin at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Family respectfully requests that masks be worn.
