Our loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, LaVona Jean Langley, passed away on March 7, 2026. She was born in McCausland, Iowa on July 22, 1939 to her late parents Elmer August Heinrich Ruprecht and Luella Clay Ruprecht. She grew up in Davenport, Iowa, attending the historic Old School House # 9, a one room school house, and lived in Davenport through high school where she attended Davenport High (the original and only high school at the time) in1958.
Following high school she married, began to travel the beautiful United States of America while welcoming four wonderful children along the way. LaVona had the pleasure and opportunity to live in many amazing cities during her lifetime, ultimately setting down in Memphis, Tennessee for a time before moving with her husband to Snowlake, Mississippi, a beautiful quaint lake community she treasured for over forty years.
LaVona loved her family dearly, adored all her animals throughout her long life, enjoyed gardening and making her lake front yard look beautiful, and loved cooking amazing meals for the family. She cherished her community at Ashland Baptist Church and was proud to be treasurer at their Sunday School for many years.
Along with her parents, LaVona is preceded in death by her brother Gerald Ruprecht, husband, Clifton Langley and daughter Wendy Jean Uselton.
LaVona is survived by her children, Nancy Lynn Rhinehart of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, David Wayne Anderson of Arlington, Tennessee, and Jerry Bryan Anderson of Memphis, Tennessee as well as nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the animal rescue organizations Abandoned to Adored at www.abandonedtoadored.com in honor of her extraordinary love and compassion for her beautiful and devoted animal companions through the years.
