Lenora Elizabeth “Johnnie” Anthony, 92, of Olive Branch, MS, lefts this world peacefully to be in the arms of Jesus on Monday, November 12, 2018. Born March 12, 1926 in Marshall County Mississippi to John and Margie Kelly Harris.
She married the love of her life, William “Billy” Anthony on February 24, 1945. They were blessed with three sons. Mr. Anthony preceded her in death on February 26, 2011.
Mrs. Anthony was retired from General Electric. She was an avid gardener and could make anything and everything grow. She enjoyed many, many hours doing what she loved, sewing. She had a beautifully sweet spirit, and was kind to everyone she encountered.
Mrs. Anthony is survived by her three sons, Wayne Anthony (Janice) of Olive Branch, MS; Larry Anthony of Bartlett, TN; and Ronnie Anthony (Sandra) of Arlington, TN; her sister Lorene Anthony of Olive Branch; nine grandchildren; ten and 1/2 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She loved her family more than words can describe and they will miss her dearly.
The family will receive friends at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens Poplar Chapel on Friday, November 16, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 17, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville, TN. The family requests that memorials be sent to Youth Villages.
