

Linn W. Hudson, Jr., 87, of Memphis, died January 20, 2012. He was an accountant and retired CFO of Century Management Co. of Memphis. He is survived by his wife, Edna M. Hudson; a son, John Evans Hudson and his wife Elizabeth W. Hudson, of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Jean Ellen Hudson; and five stepdaughters, Sylvia Watson, Sharon Fewell, Leslie Watson; Parris Edwards, and Audrey Dekany; ten grandchildren, and one great grandson. Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Virginia Evans Hudson; his parents, sisters, and a brother. Linn was born in Indianapolis, Ind., on May 4, 1924, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Butler University. He moved to Memphis in 1955 and joined Century Management in 1973. He retired in 1994 and traveled the country with his wife Edna, collecting art and antiques, and spending time at their second home in the French Quarter. Linn was a former deacon and Sunday School teacher at McLean Baptist Church. He was a lifelong basketball fan, and held season tickets to the U of M games since the 50’s days in the Field House. Linn was also a lover of instrumental and jazz music, and a fan of many local musicians. Linn was loved and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, co-workers, and by the musicians who dubbed him “the coolest accountant you’ll ever meet.” Linn's family will receive guests from 4PM - 7PM on Mon., Jan. 23. Funeral services will begin at 1PM on Tues., Jan. 24 beginning at 1PM both at Memphis Funeral Home 5599 Poplar Avenue.
