

LOUISE CURTIS CAMPBELL, age 95, of Memphis, Tennessee, died on Thursday, January 20, 2011 in Memphis. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25 at Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Chapel. Services will be at Memphis Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 26 at 10 a.m., with burial following at Memorial Park. Louise was born and raised in Louisville, Mississippi. She married John Campbell in 1934 and moved to Memphis in 1937. Mrs. Campbell attended Blue Mountain College. Louise was a founding member of the Parent Teacher’s Association of East High School and took an active part in the extra-curricular activities of the school. She was a member of the King’s Daughters Auxiliary, The Ladies of St. Jude, and a long-time member of Chickasaw Country Club. She was a founding member of the Wood Grove Garden Club, and served as President. She was a member of the English Speaking Union and the Symphony League. Louise was a founding member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mrs. Campbell lost her husband of 75 years, John in 2007. She leaves a daughter, Patricia Burns and husband, Greg Burns of Oklahoma City, and a son John Jared Campbell III and wife, Cindy Campbell of Destin, FL. She also leaves grandchildren, Richard Glass and wife, Amy of Dallas, Texas, Michael Glass and wife, Andrea of Denver, Colorado, Debbie Sodec and husband, Jeremy of Birmingham, Alabama, Matthew Glass and wife, Laura of Tampa, Florida, and Greg Campbell and wife, Augusta of Memphis, Tennessee. She leaves 13 great-grandchildren, Cameron Sodec, Cooper Sodec, John Henry Campbell, Frederick Lawrence Campbell, Rebecca, Jonathan, Joseph, and Joshua Glass, Austin and Addie Glass, J.W., David and Campbell Glass. “Memom” will be missed by her many friends and grateful family! The family requests that any memorials be sent to Trinty Baptist Church, Crossroads Hospice, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
