

Mackey was born December 9, 1919 in Houston Mississippi. She died of natural causes in Noblesville, Indiana on March 10, 2016.
She is predeceased in death by her husband, Thomas Hunt, her parents D.W. Jean and Effie Pyron Jean, and her brothers and sisters; Lora, Everett, Susie Mae and David. She leaves her loving daughters Jean Marie Curtis (Joe) and Pat Hudsmith (Mike Dunne) and grandchildren; Thomas Curtis (Katie), Katie Curtis, Hunter and Keenan Hudsmith.
Mackey lived a full and vibrant life. After graduating from Houston High School, she joined the WWII effort by working as a Rosie the Riveter in Mobile, AL. After the war, she broke the glass ceiling traveling through the mid-south for Sears & Roebuck. She married Tommy in 1959, and settled down to raise her girls, making many great meals and passing on her passion for football. She was a longtime member of Christ UMC and the Wesley Class and served as the secretary/ treasurer for 50 years. Throughout her life and travels, Mackey never met a stranger always making and maintaining friendships. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at 12:30pm on Tues March 15th at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. The Celebration of her Life will be at 2:00 with the burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
