Marcia Truax Crone

Marcia was born on November 24, 1958, in McAllen, Texas, to Billie Norwood Truax and Rodney Truax. At the age of three, she moved with her family to Memphis, Tennessee, where she spent most of her life, aside from a few years in her twenties living in Orlando, Florida.

Marcia was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and proud “Noni.” She was plainspoken, full of life, impossible to ignore and a true free spirit. Her big, boisterous laugh could fill a room, and her beautiful, infectious smile made everyone feel welcome. She loved music, dancing, and good food, and she never missed a chance to enjoy life. If you were fortunate enough to be her friend, you had a friend for life. She treasured her many friendships deeply.

Marcia was preceded in death by her father, Rodney Truax.

She is survived by her mother, Billie Young, and her bonus father, James Roy Young. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Sissy Pasley (John), Dallas Lavergne (Kennon), Lanessa Stephens (Gary), Shanena Young, and Jason Young (Kristin).

She leaves behind her three children, Kristain Smith (Brian), Jordan Crone, and Dillon Crone, along with her five beloved grandchildren: Carter Smith, Cason Smith, Layton Smith, Hazel Crone, and Millie Smith. She also remained very close to the father of her children, Jefferson Crone.

A memorial service honoring Marcia will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5296 Park Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee.

Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m., with a reception in the church hall immediately afterward.

Marcia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, but we take comfort in knowing she is resting peacefully in her Savior’s arms. She will forever remain in our hearts, and the many joyful memories we shared with her will be cherished always.
