Marjorie "Margie" Nevara Bailey

Marjorie Nevara Bailey, age 84, of Cordova, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025. Known affectionately as “Marjie” to many, she was a beloved aunt, great-aunt, great-great aunt, and cherished friend whose warmth, humor, and unwavering faith touched everyone who knew her.

Marjorie had a rare gift of making people feel seen and loved. She never met a stranger, and her infectious laugh could light up any room. Children especially gravitated toward her kind and joyful spirit, a reflection of her deep, genuine love for others. Her life was a beautiful testimony of faith, compassion, and the simple joys of being surrounded by family.

She was an active and faithful member of Cherry Road Baptist Church, where she found great joy in serving and fellowshipping with her church family. Whether she was sharing a funny story or offering a listening ear, Marjorie’s presence made a difference in countless lives.

Marjorie is survived by her loving niece Cheri Hill; great-nephew Daniel (Wes) Hill; great-niece Amanda (Corey) Word, along with their children Laynie Word Murray, Noble Redden, and Annabeth Word; as well as extended family Virginia Fielder, Tim (Sharon) Fielder, their daughter Magen (Justin) Hall, and their daughter Emy Hall.

Her legacy of love, laughter, and faith will be cherished forever by all who were blessed to know her.

Family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Tuesday, July 29 at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN. Services will follow at 10:00am. Interment will be a Forest Hill - Midtown 1661 Elvis Presley Blvd, Memphis, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her honor.
