Melinda Tanksley Guess, 72, passed away April 9, 2017. She was born February 17, 1945 in Memphis, TN. Melinda worked for the Shelby County Sheriffs Department from 1988-1993. She was an avid horse and dog lover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Guess and her parents Reverend James and Louise Tanksley. She is survived by daughters, Phyllis R. Sherman and Rhonda Guess, step-daughters, Debbie Ruble and Sharon Richardson, Sister, Sara Tanksley Savell, grandchildren, Charly Bunnell, Danny Smith, Dylan Morrow and Garrett Morrow, great-grandson Ty Campbell and her dog, Precious. Graveside services will be held at Memphis Memory Gardens Monday April 17, 2017 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society or charity of choice.
