Uncle Mike was an awesome Uncle and the memories of riding on his shoulders when I was younger will always stay with me, he was a very loving and dedicated man...

I grew up believing that the warriors of myth truly walked the earth because I had one that walked for me...my Uncle Mike.  He was bigger than life, not only in size but in manner; and without doubt in his ability to love without boundaries even though he did so quietly.  Those of us who were lucky enough to be loved by him and to love him in return know what I am talking about.  He was one of a kind. He was a legendary story teller. I will greatly miss sitting around the kitchen table and waiting for the tales to begin and the tears of laughter that would follow.  Never fear Uncle Mike; Uncle Mel will well-carry that torch for you and continue the tales as only the two of you could. Thank you for everything you shared with us and taught us over your lifetime. We are all better at what we are, having been guided by you. Hug Maggie and Bear for me...

"Iron Mike" as we knew him in Memphis, but a quiet, gentle man at heart.  There are a few people in life that make lasting impressions and he was one of those.  It was my honor to know Mike and work with him.  May God comfort the family in their loss.

A rough, gruff, hardheaded rascal ! Who I came to admire and appreciate for the way he loved, and took care of my sis, and loved and took care of my Mom as if she was his own. It was my pleasure to know a man of such Honor, and he wouldn't want you to know, but a man with a warm and caring heart.Hope heaven looks like Colorado Mike. God Bless you ! Joe and Barbara.

Mike was a truly good man;  a patriot, having served in Vietnam; 
a Southern gentleman to the core; and a love.  He was handsome without
realizing it, gentle on the gruff side, and wise beyond his years.  Those he cared about were lucky, lucky people. I think children might have been his favorites, but he was sweet to old people too.  My deepest sympathy to
his loved ones,   a DAL forever-friend

I had the pleasure of meeting Mike for the first time when he picked me up at the airport to visit my brother,George in the hospital. In an instant i realized what a great guy he was. Conversation flowed and by the time I got to the hospital to meet his gracious wife Jane; I knew my brother had a great father-in-law. my thoughts & prayers go out to Sandy,her mother, Jane & the rest of the family

Michael was a classmate  of ours at Mason Hall School and a good friend. We played basketball together and had many good times. He will be missed.Ron and Dot Sellers

A beloved son, brother, husband, father and uncle. A privilege to call him 'Uncle'. A man that loved his country and served for it, a Veteran of the U.S. Army.  He will be missed by many. Rest in Peace Uncle Mike.

Mike was one great guy in high school.  I always thought a lot of him.
