

Mynelle T. Dyer (Ms. Frank Dyer, Sr.) went to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 29, 2015. She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Frank M. Dyer, Jr and his wife Mildred of Germantown, and Don B. Dyer of Sebring, FL. She was the loving wife of Frank M. Dyer, Sr., part owner of American Sash and Door who preceded her in death in 1983. Mynelle and Frank were classmates at Messick High School and eloped to Hernando, MS on March 8, 1937. She leaves behind four grandsons: Kevin D. Dyer of St. Petersburg, FL (Stephanie); Frank M. Dyer, III of Oxford, MS (Allyson); Trevor B. Dyer of Seattle, WA (Tia); and Alvin Ingram Dyer of Memphis; nine great grandchildren: Morgan, Blake, Allison, Sophie, Grace, Sophia, Avery, Harrison and Gage; sister, Joyce Thompson Payne of Ocala, FL, and a host of friends and loved ones. She also leaves her beloved friend and caregiver, Ms. Lizzie Spears, who blessed her life and provided great love and service to her for ten years. Mynelle is preceded in death by two brothers, C.E. “Calvin” Thompson and Dancy Thompson of Memphis, and one sister, Virginia Thompson Ross. Before illness Mynelle was a loyal member of Central Church and a long time former member of St. Luke’s United Methodist and the Loyalty Class. She was active in Bible Fellowships and served as a Pink Lady at Methodist Central. She was a very spiritual lady who served her church and others until Alzheimer took its effects. A visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave on Tuesday, Sept. 1st from 9:30 to 11:00am with services to immediately follow. A catered reception will be held at the Memphis Funeral Home Life Remembrance Center following the burial. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to Germantown United Methodist Church at 2331 S. Germantown Road, Methodist Hospice at 6416 Quince Road or to the charity of your choice.
