

Nathan “Fred” Cox, Jr., 73, a lifelong Memphian, died at Baptist Hospital on January 20, 2012. A retired salesman, Mr. Cox was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and member at Bellevue Baptist Church. He was a lover for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing but his passion was golf. He was a member of the Bartlett Senior League and Cordova Country Club. The family will receive guests and friends on Monday, January 21 from 5PM – 7PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 5599 Poplar Avenue. Mr. Cox will be buried at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery were a private ceremony will be held for the family. Mr. Cox is survived by his wife of 52 years Shirley A. Cox; daughter Tina Stephens (John); two sons Nathan Fred Cox, III (Celeste) and Michael Cox (Theresa); sisters Fran Collins and Kathy Tabb; brother Ricky Faulkner; and six grandchildren Jordan, Taylor & Ainsley Stephens, Chandler & Cameron Cox, and Paola Cox.
