

For much of her life Pat called Fayetteville, Arkansas home. She devoted many years of service as an academic advisor for the athletic department at the University of Arkansas, where she faithfully supported student-athletes and remained an enthusiastic and loyal Razorback fan throughout her life. In her later years, Pat resided in Memphis, Tennessee, but her heart was always deeply rooted in Arkansas.
Pat was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She sang in the choir, played the piano and loved sharing music as an expression of her love for the Lord. Above all, she cherished her relationship with Jesus Christ and shared the Gospel whenever she had the opportunity.
She was also an active and dedicated member of P.E.O. Sisterhood in both Fayetteville and Memphis, faithfully supporting its philanthropic mission to promote educational opportunities for women.
Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. James E. Haynes, and her daughter, Leanne Elizabeth Haynes Childs. She is survived by her son, Randal Allan Haynes, cherished grandson, James Courtland Haynes, brother Richard Lee Oates (Sharon). As well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family meant everything to Pat and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved. Her legacy of faith, service, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 12:00 noon, at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 1728 E Mission Blvd.,Fayetteville, Arkansas 72703.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
