Paula Denise Gentry departed Planet Earth on May 4, 2024 and was taken by angels into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, where she will experience peace, joy and righteousness with Him, forever. She trusted His suffering and death on the cross as payment for her sins, making it possible for her to be in a right relationship with God forever. She was born in Dallas, Texas on May 15, 1949 and moved to Memphis in 1970. She married Sam Gentry on June 24, 1972. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage, during which they raised 5 children and faithfully served their Lord Jesus Christ, which is the main focus of their lives. By the Grace of God, Paula was a teacher of children with Child Evangelism Fellowship during summer camps for 10 years and did serious Bible study with Bible Study Fellowship for over 30 years, being a group leader for the last 5 years. She also taught the lady's Sunday School Class for 15 years at the Cambodian Baptist Church, where she and Sam have served the Lord for over 20 years. They traveled to many parts of the USA, often on their motorcycle, and also made several trips to Europe, which they enjoyed and visited many historical Christian sites. She worked for Maybelline for 32 years, and for the last several years for Covenant Landscaping, which she enjoyed and had many friends. She loved animals and trained 2 therapy dogs, Tootsie and Happy, to encourage people in various places. She was a faithful companion and help-mate to her husband and a loving mother of 5, Paul, Andrea, Laura, Denise and Dante; grandmother of 7, and great-grandmother of 10. We will all miss her and look forward to being reunited with her when we, as Christians, finish our earthly journey or when Jesus Christ returns to make all things new, including our bodies, which will be immortal. To God be the Glory!
