Richard "Dick" Wilson Carlyle, 78, passed away on December 24, 2019. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany and faithfully attended Bellevue Baptist Church. He was an avid Ole Miss football and baseball fan, loved playing golf and was involved with the AAU boys basketball for over 25 years. Mr. Carlyle also loved the relationship he had with Supercuts and served as an honorary Ambassador with the Memphis Police Department, Appling Farms Precinct. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Gene Carlyle and twin brother, Robert Carlyle. His survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Betsy Carlyle; sons, Kenneth Carlyle (Leslie) and Kevin Carlyle, both of Greensboro, N.C.; two grandchildren, Lily and Reagan Carlyle; son, Dustin Bauman (Wendi) of Memphis, TN; one sister, Ginny Carlyle of Middleton, NJ. Family will receive guests on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 1 pm until the funeral service starts at 2 pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. A reception will follow from 3 to 5 pm. Burial will be held at West TN Veterans Cemetery on January 14th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers all memorials can be sent to The Alzheimer's and Dementia Association or The American Cancer Society.
