Robert Lee Anders

Robert Lee Anders, 74, of Collierville, TN passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jacqueline Gillespie Anders, a daughter, Reverend Rhonda Gilligan-Gillespie, a son, William Lee Anders (Jennifer), two grandchildren, Liam Frederick Donald Anders and Ginger Frances Anders, two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Gillespie and Terry Purtle, two nieces, Rachel Moore (Tim) and Sarah Orellana (Scott), and a nephew, Keith Purtle (Angie). He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Lee Anders and Betty Helms Anders and a sister, Carol Anders Purtle. Mr. Anders attended Central High School and was a member of the ROTC. He went on to graduate from CBC in 1969 with a BA in Engineering. He also proudly served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. Later he retired from the FAA in 2006 where he served in technical support as an Electrical Engineer. He received many awards for his successes while working. Mr. Anders was a man of steadfast faith and honored his God, country and family with the deepest of devotion. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, April Thirtieth from nine o’clock in the morning until the time of service at ten o’clock in the morning at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests contributions to Samaritan’s Purse (www.samaritanspurse.org/our-ministry/donate-online/).
