

ROBERT YOUNG EWING, 70, of Memphis, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015. Bob, an Army veteran of Germany and Vietnam, was preceded in death by his father, William Hickman Ewing, Sr., and his mother, Addie Carolyn Young Ewing. He is survived by his brothers; William Hickman Ewing Jr. (Mary), Johnston Morgan Ewing, Joseph David Ewing (his twin brother who was 15 minutes older), and Clarence Pepper Ewing; and one sister, Margaret “Maggie” Ewing Hunter; as well as seven nephews and nieces; Jessica, Adam, Abby, Shannon, Michael, Marcus, and Johnston. He was close to his 11 first cousins. The family will receive friends at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. Memphis, TN on Thursday, August 13th from 1 to 3 pm with service to begin at 3 pm. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 14th at 11:30 am at West Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill-Irene Road, Memphis, TN. Bob was a 1963 graduate of Whitehaven High School (and played on the baseball team). He also attended Whitehaven Baptist Church. Shortly after high school he entered the army serving first in Germany, and then in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. He attended Memphis State University. He worked for many years in the restaurant business at Poor Red’s and Patrick’s. “Bubba” had an engaging personality and many friends. He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan.
