

Robert “Bob” T. Tabor, 82, passed away on January 13, 2012. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Billie Ruth Giles Tabor, his father, Samuel Tilden Tabor and mother, Luma Pearl Bellew Tabor. As a retired Captain of the Memphis Police department, he served our community for 31 years. He also served his country in the United States Army. His two passions were fishing and bowling. As an avid bowler, Bob was past president, director, and lifetime board member of the Memphis Bowling Association. He was previously elder and deacon at Christ Church Presbyterian and a member of Independent Presbyterian Church. He was also an active member of the Southeast Shelby Republican Club. He is survived by his sister, Nettie Mae Russell of Vicksburg, Ms, his nieces, Pat Busbey, Janelle Tabor and Wanda Tabor of Memphis, Tn, and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 18th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens Poplar Avenue. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 19th at Independent Presbyterian Church, Walnut Grove Road at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at New Albany City Cemetery following the funeral service.Arrangements under the direction of Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Memphis, TN.
