Ronald Eugene Steele, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, surrounded by the family he cherished. He was born on October 29, 1957, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Eugene Leonard and Mary Alice Steele.
Ron grew up in Memphis alongside his brother, Anthony, and carried with him the values of hard work, loyalty, and quiet strength that would define his life. On September 2, 1980, he married the love of his life, Teresa, and together they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and happiness.
They raised four children — Melissa, Bobby, who sadly passed away shortly after birth, Michael, and Michelle — each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Ron’s grandchildren were the light of his life: Ethan, Payton, Carter, Addyson, Logan, Lily, and soon-to-arrive baby Marlene, along with his great-granddaughter Adley. To them, he was more than “Peeps” — he was a source of unconditional love, encouragement, and pride.
Ron was one of the strongest, most loyal men anyone could know. Quiet, but never weak — his actions always spoke louder than words. He faced every challenge in life with resilience and determination, whether fighting for his family, his business, or the values he held dear. Even as life tested him — caring for his mother through illness, supporting Teresa during her battle with cancer, and then facing his own — Ron remained kind, optimistic, and humble.
He taught his family, by example, what true courage and positivity look like. His passing leaves a silence that words cannot fill, but his strength, optimism, and love will continue to guide all who knew him.
Ron’s passions were simple yet profound. He was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Memphis Tigers. But more than any professional team, his favorite athletes were his kids and grandkids. Whether sitting in the stands at a baseball game or a basketball court, his pride radiated with every hit, every catch, every basket. He also loved the freedom of the open road on his Harley-Davidson, where he could take in life’s simple joys.
Ron’s life was a testament to devotion — to his wife, his family, and the many friends who became family along the way. His love, integrity, and gentle humor will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mary Alice Steele, and his infant son, Bobby Steele. He is survived by his wife Teresa, his children Melissa (Ryan), Michael (Lauren), and Michelle (Jason), his brother Anthony (Cindy), his grandchildren Ethan, Payton, Carter, Addyson, Logan, Lily, and Marlene, and his great-granddaughter Adley.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2025, with visitation at 1:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Ron’s memory by attending a ball game, taking a ride, or spending time with the people you love most — just as he always did.
