Stefanie Heather Johnston

Stefanie Heather Johnston, born on May 28, 1976, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on November 15, 2025, at the age of 49. She is the daughter of James and Sherri Johnston of Slidell, LA, sister of James Johnston II(Melanie) of Atascocita, TX and Robyn Miller (Matthew) of Carriere, MS, and beloved mother of Shelby Anne Marie Chapman and Raney Amanda Chapman. She is an honor graduate and outstanding athlete in soccer(All District), volleyball(All District), basketball (All District) and track (All District) from Salmen High School in Slidell, LA. She received her undergraduate degree from University of Florida and her masters from University of New Orleans. She spent her entire career in education teaching Gifted English and Deaf and Hard of Hearing in South Florida, Asheville, NC, Slidell LA and Memphis TN. She coached track, soccer, and softball during her teaching career. She was Teacher of the Year at Slidell Junior High and touted as her students’ favorite teacher. She was also a Certified Lifeguard and swim instructor for the YMCA Memphis and certified yoga instructor in Memphis and volunteer yoga instructor at St. Jude Hospital.
