Thomas J. Knudson

Thomas J. Knudson, 84, passed away April 17, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. He was a graduate of Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin and had retired from Georgia Pacific. He was a parishioner at the Church of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a Eucharistic minister to the sick; he enjoyed working in his wood workshop, along with fishing and golfing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas Knudson and Ruth Buchanan Knudson; brothers, Robert Knudson and Richard Knudson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Knudson; daughters, Marcia (Jim) McIntyre and Julie Knudson; son, Robert (Briar) Knudson; grandchildren, Laura Conner, Jim (Kelley) McIntyre, Katie Knudson, Kristin Knudson, Rebecca (Matt) Dulen and Brie Knudson; great-grandchild, Reagan Dulen and several nephews.The family will receive friends Thursday, April 21 from five o'clock until seven o'clock in the evening at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with a Rosary to be held at seven. Funeral Mass will be conducted at the Church of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2300 Hickory Crest Drive, on Friday, April 22 at ten-thirty in the morning. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mr. Knudson may be offered to Church of the Holy Spirit or to Ava Maria Home, 2805 Charles Bryan Road, Bartlett, TN 38134.
