Virginia Maupin Hazelrig, 85 of Memphis died at home on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. She was born on June 26, 1928 in Dyer County to Samuel Jenkins and Julia May Maupin. She retired from Dillard’s Department store where she was a manager in the fragrance department. Virginia was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Olive Branch, MS. She leaves a son, David Bennett (Linda), a daughter, Betty Gammel (Bobby), four grandchildren, Heather Gammel, Chris Gammel, Nicole Bennett and Bridger Yancey and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28 from 5-8 pm and funeral services will be at 10 am on Saturday, March 1 all at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Ave. Burial will follow services at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, TN.
