

Walter had an unwavering devotion to his family and friends along with a passion for life. He embraced every moment whether it was through the thrill of drag racing, his church community, or enjoying family activities. He operated Harville Trucking for many years after proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War with courage and dedication.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Renee and Oscar Harville and his son John Alexander Harville. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cheryl, his daughter, Melissa Voyles (Donald); one brother, Doug Harville, niece Alicia (DJ), nephews, Michael (Nikki), Matthew (Courtney), and Justin; and one sister, Cindy Sartain (Jay), nephews Dalton and Tyler. Walter leaves behind six grandchildren; Anna Turnipseed, Shauna Gray (Bobby), Jordan Gray (Hannah), Catherine Markle (Jacob), Tabatha Harville, and Hannah Harville along with five great, great grandchildren, Aydon, Keygan, Nova, Kysen, and Elizabeth and many cousins.
A visitation will be held on December 3, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Olive Branch Church of Christ, located at 9100 E Sandidge Rd, Olive Branch, MS, 38654.
The funeral service will follow on December 3, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:50 pm at the same location.
A committal service is scheduled for December 3, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 2:20 pm at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, located at 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN, 38125.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to American Lung Association or the Wounded Warriors Project.
