WILLIAM RICHARD HORTON, 55, died December 1, 2010. He died after a short battle with liver cancer. Richard was born and raised in Memphis. Very early in life, he discovered he was a gifted cabinet maker. He was a successful business owner of Horton’s Woodworking and Memphis Custom Woodworking. All it took was a picture or an idea and he could design and build anything from wood. He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Horton and grandparents, Kyle and Pearl Higginbotham. He is survived by his mother, Marie Horton; sister, Jean Clayton and her husband, Joe; brother, Robert Horton; two nieces, Jennifer Lowe and Angela Herrington; and four great-nephews. He also leaves Terilyn Blackman, his companion for many years. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Poplar, Monday, December 6 and services will be Tuesday, December 7 at 2 p.m., with burial in Memphis Memory Gardens on Raleigh-LaGrange.
